Seven of the 15 fastest-growing jobs over the next decade will be in the Tech Industry [3]. The lack of Black representation in Tech will have tangible adverse effects on the Black community. For instance, Black families stand to lose out on an estimated 350 billion dollars in Tech wages by 2030 [2].
There are various reasons for a lack of Black participation in the tech industry. One of the social reasons is the absence of representation of highly successful Black individuals in tech-related careers.
